The prime reason for not getting the equality is our poor mentality, it may be either from the male member or from the female member. As a human being, we have the requirement of male and female equally to run a society, a state, a country and world. A male/female can not push the society alone. GUWAHATI: Assam has witnessed a 10 fold rise in child marriage since 2015-16 with 317 instances recorded during 2017-18, said Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma in the Assembly Friday.

It will require a massive, persistent, prolonged and sustained effort to be continued at least for 3 to 4 generations to change this mentality of believing to be a superior gender compared to the female gender. Time and again it has been proven that female gender is equally or even more capable than the male gender. Equality must be perceived more as strength than weakness as it is being perceived. Humans can achieve a lot more by co-existing, working cohesively as a team with mutual respect.

A girl child faces threats to her existence right from the conceived stage till old age. Be it female foeticide, sexual exploitation, sexual abuse, sexual harassment, dowry harassment, labor exploitation, gender inequality,etc. This is because of the mindset of male gender that blindly believes that it is superior, more strong, more powerful, more intelligent, smarter than the female gender. This mindset is continuing even today and massive effort is required to change this significantly.
