A New Wave of Organic Farming in Bongaigaon

Chilarai FPC has brought about a new wave of organic farming in Bongaigaon. With help from Bharatiya Kisan Sangha, the unit has been engaging many local people in organic farming of maize, paddy, potato, etc. So far the FPC has formed 30 FIGs (Farmer Interested Group) and each FIG has about 15 members. It was Bharatiya Kisan Sangha that encouraged them to take up farming in a completely organic way. They have also been trying to increase production with less manpower by using machines.
