Pragjyotishor Jilingoni features the history of Manikarneswar Devalaya located at Rajaduar in North Guwahati. The existing temple in the site was built during the reign of Swargadeo Rajeswar Singha in 18th century, but it has remains of earlier stone temple datable to 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th century.

Manikarneswar Temple is one of the oldest temples of the Assam. Originally it was built by the Palas and later it was renovated by the Ahom ruler Rajeshwar Singha. Currently it is under the supervision of Archeological Survey of India(ASI)

It is a nice religious and historical place as well as a beautiful natural scene for tourism purpose. Government should develop this place on the part of conservation of tourism so that The strength of tourists will increase automatically and will also generate source of income to the Department of Tourism .
