The highways of Assam should be lined with shady trees as it will not only beautify the scenery but also cool down the environment. Also during construction of highways large scale deforestation took place and we have not recovered, even 50% of flora and fauna that we have lost. Also, we should think of planting Peepal trees (FICUS RELIGIOSA) in suitable locations as it provides huge amount of oxygen and can uptake carbon dioxide during the night as well.

1. Contact with the head of the municipal department of Surat. Try to understand their strategies and implement them as per the requirements of the state.
2. The government of Bhutan is also leading one of the successful campaigns for clean city in their country. Collaborate (for training people etc )with them and know their ways and means of making the state pollution free.
3. Educating the locals about the sanitation and basic civic sense through workshops in villages through panchayat

Innumerable Coke Bhattas have come up under Margherita subdivision. The Bhattas are reportedly operated under license from Industry Dept. and Consent from APCB. Though stacks/chimneys 30ft tall are installed for exhaust of coal burning fumes, it is not sufficient for control of pollution. The emission from Coke bhattas should be treated in line with Thermal Power Plants. MoEF Guidelines applicable for Coal Based Thermal Power Plants shall be implemented for Coke Bhattas.

Assam was famous for its green nature.Unfortunately, essential developmental activities and industrial growth drastically have been affecting it. People are also paying less interest in preservation and plantation of trees ownself. In this situation government can encourage the people of Assam to develop their Bari (green homeland) and providing private right to sell their own planted trees to mitigate their needs. Norms may be made in this regard

Govt. should focus on green tourism. With green tourism we can promote preservation of local flora and fauna as people will realize the potential value that can be generated by tourism alone. Govt. can study kerela tourism model.

Wherever there has been construction or broadening of roads in Assam, a large number of trees have been cut down. Construction companies should first make an effort to save as many trees as possible. Besides, hardy local trees like nahor, kathal, teteli, arjun, etc., should be planted on both sides of all roads. It should be mandatory for the construction companies to plant and take care of the saplings. Assam should be made fully and truly plastic-free. We must have strict legislation for that.
