Respected Sir,
The traffic congestion in Guwahati city will only increase in the upcoming decade as Guwahati is not only D Gateway to Northeast but also D educational and commercial hub of Assam. Some of the measures to reduce the current traffic congestions are-
1. The no. of vehicles owned by a single family should be restricted specially for 4 wheelers.
2.There should be some offers to encourage the public to park their vehicles on allocated areas.
3.Promotion of shared 2 wheeler vehicles

The Home Department should not differences when the Police Force is concerned by having various Armed Branch (AB), Unarmed Branch (UB), Battalions, Special Companies, etc. It can keep The Black Panther Commandos as it is, but rest of them should be used for common Policing like the UB Branch. They can be trained about the Legal Compliances and can alternatively used in UB Branch after certain age so that the availability of Police in actual Law & Order/Traffic, etc. are adequate.

. There should be no roadside parking on either side for all kind of vehicles during the rush hours as mentioned. All the main roads used by city buses should come under this no parking condition for two hours during forenoon (9 to 11 AM) and another two hours (5 to 7 PM) in the afternoon. As we cannot stop roadside parking all together we can definitely do it for a few hours everyday. Experimentally we can close road side parking one hour (9 to 10 AM) in the fore noon and one hour (5 TO 6 PM)

Well Maintained roads should be laid.
bridges should be planned where to overcome traffic.

educational institutions and office timings may be modified to avoid traffic.

Urbanization Makes people better opportunities

Guwahati is one the most busiest city in India as all north-east states linked with it, so traffic jam is quite natural in this town. Few areas in guwahati which is more effected by traffic should deploy more traffic sergeant and the one way road for up and down vehicles. Side by side penalties should imposed to violate traffic rules.

The city sees a huge increase in the number of private vehicles on the road. It is to be done that new roads and pathways are developed because at the moment the roads of Guwahati are very congested and need for new ones are obvious.

Then it is to be spread as an awareness that people should consider public transport an option, most people do not like to travel on public transport due to the unruliness that comes with it, we can take example from Indore's BRTS system
