City buses
6. Should wait for the passengers to get off the bus and get on to the bus safely and should start moving only when the passengers are properly secured.
7. Should not overload and overspeed.

Buses
1. City buses should maintain a gap of atleast 2 mins between themselves while plying on city roads.
2. Should stop at designated bus stops only and only for a maximum of 2 minutes.
3. Should stop close to the bus stop and not in the middle of the road.
4. Should always remain in the leftmost lane and should not attempt to overtake.
5. Should pick up and drop off passengers from the front door as it is visible to the driver.

Four wheelers
4. Should indicate before changing lanes.
5. Remain in the proper lane before turning off the main road. If turning right, move to the right lane of a multi-lane road while indicating at the same time.
6. While merging into the traffic, always get to speed of the traffic and then merge into the traffic while checking your side rear view mirrors for traffic coming from behind.
7. Use the all the rear view mirrors i.e. left and right outside mirrors and inside rear view mirror.

Four wheelers
1. All passengers should put on the seatbelts while travelling in a vehicle.
2. Vehicles should remain in the proper lane while travelling on the road. The rightmost lane in the left hand side carriage way of a multlane highway is meant for faster vehicles and the leftmost lane in meant for the slower vehicles.
3. While turing off from the main road, always use the indicators. The indicators should be initiated atleast 30 metres from the point of turn.

Two wheelers
4. Do not slow down abruptly or overspeed.
5. Use indicators while taking a turn or turning off from the main road or while changing lanes. Indicators should be initiated atleast 30 metres before taking the turn.

Two wheeler riders and pilions
1. Should always use helmets while riding.
2. Should not remain at the blind spots of other vehicles. The left rear corner of any vehicle is the biggest blind spot and riders should always avoid that.
3. Remain visible to other road users. Turn on the headlamps at low beam at all times. Use bright coloured clothes or High visibility jackets.
4. Maintain speed with the traffic at a safe distance from vehicles up front and at the back.

Some suggestions for controlling Assam Traffic

Pedestrians
1. Should remain at the left hand side of the road while walking. If footpath is present, pedestrians should use the footpath.
2. Should cross the road at designated zebra crossings or police points or should use the overbridges. Do not remain distracted.
3. Should always be aware of the passing traffic at all times, pedestrians are the most vulnerable on the road and a small mistake by some other road user may lead to their harm.

Controlling Traffic in Assam
1. Rickshaws & Thelas should be removed from all the main roads. (Only to be allowed in Bye lanes)
2. Making Footbridges in major intersections in the cities. (People do not use zebra crossing and they think they are traffic police and they cross the roads wherever they want)
3. Common People should be educated about Road Safety and Traffic Rules.(while giving license and also the existing license holders mainly city bus, trucks and other bus drivers)

Every traffic violation/accident must be recorded online to check future violations.To de-congest Guwahati fast,safe,comfortable buses should be available to Jagiroad,Nalbari,Tezpur,Dudhnoi,till 9 PM etc. Local trains to these places will solve the problem permanently.Rly bridge near Saraighat is a must.Solar powered street lights in small towns close to capital is a must. All small towns upto 100 km from Dispur must have all the best infrastructure,hospital,education,market must...
