Assam is located at an excellent location, providing a gateway to the South-East region. It also enjoys a favorable climate for doing business. When it comes to resources, they have a bundle of rich minerals and agricultural facilities. Assam Government should take into consideration for economic growth in rural areas particularly and require the financial assistance from Central Government during natural calamities in order to improve conditions of weaker sections of the society.

Government should take the following actions for development of domestic industry in rural areas:-
- To create income and employment especially in the rural areas of Assam.
- To encourage sustainable Investment in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME)
sector in the State.
- To build a vast pool of skilled personnel by training in village school.

What are the problems of economic development in Assam?
Unemployment, poverty and low income or inequality of income becomes the major factor in the growth of population and low wealth. Natural calamities – Floods and droughts hit Assam every now and then with that many other calamities also take place. Therefore, people do not develop the domestic work due to poor economic conditions.

Why industrial development is very slow in Assam?
The transport and communication network in the state developed. The state faces the problem of insufficient funds. The industrial policy of the government is not simple and flexible. Investment in the industrial sector is lacking in rural areas of Assam.
