The Government of India declared 26 November as Constitution Day on 19 November 2015 by a gazette notification. The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi made the declaration on 11 October 2015 while laying the foundation stone of the B. R. Ambedkar's Statue of Equality memorial in Mumbai.[2] The year of 2015 was the 125th birth anniversary of Ambedkar, who had chaired the drafting committee of the Constituent Assembly and played a pivotal role in the drafting of the constitution.

The role of Indian Constitution is to protect democracy. Maintain unity, harmony and integrity of the country. Indian Constitution is superior to all the laws of the country. Every law enacted by the government has to be in conformity with the Constitution.The constitution was drawn from a number of sources. Mindful of India's needs and conditions, its framers borrowed features of previous legislation such as the Government of India Act 1858, the Indian Councils Acts of 1861, 1892 and 1909

Since the year of 2015 was the 125th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Ambedkar, the Government of India decided to celebrate this year in a massive way. For this purpose, a special committee was formed under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Various ministries and departments organized various programs throughout the year with a view to spreading the thoughts and ideas of Baba Saheb. However, National Constitution Day is not a public holiday.

This year we celebrated 70th anniversary of Constitution on 26 Nov.2019.Constitution made on 26 Nov.1949.We have to thankful to Mr.BHIMRAO AMBEDKAR because he is the Spinal of Indian Constitution.So,we should respect our Constitution.
