Land Patta for Indegenous Families of Assam

On October 5, Govt of Assam will provide land patta to over 50,000 landless families, thus fulfilling the target of providing land patta to one lakh beneficiaries. So far 45,141 people have been benefitted by the initiative. A few beneficiaries share their experience.

Is there any penalty for non registration of land in Assam?
If the person fails to apply for registration as required by the notice, the Deputy Commissioner may impose an additional fine not exceeding one rupee for each day of default from the expiry of the date in the notice.

How can we separate Patta from joint Patta in Assam?
A Proprietor/ Land holder having a specific share of land in a joint patta may apply for partitioning from the patta and creation of a new patta so that he can pay land revenue independently.

How can we separate land Patta in Assam?
Citizen may either apply to Lot Mandal or Circle Officer for field partition. Moreover, citizen can apply partition on line through ILRMS (Integrated Land Records Management System), Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Assam after the Citizen Centric Service is commissioned.

What is the difference between Patta and TSLR?
The only difference between it and a Patta is that the later is provided when the land is under municipal government and TSLR is provided when the land is under panchayat government.

How can we remove my name from Patta?
To change the Patta name, we need to opt for offline mode. We can easily change the ownership of the property by visiting the nearest Village Administration Office or nearest Taluk.

Documents Required for Patta Transfer:-
1.Signed patta transfer application.
2.Copy of sale deed. Verification requires original documents.
3.Proof of possession like EB bill or property tax receipt.
4.Encumbrance certificate.

What is difference between Patta and registry?
A patta is more concerned with the details of the owner and registration is more concerned about the transfer of property from one person to another. Patta Registration might not be made compulsory but in most of the cases, you will be asked to furnish it to complete the particular process quickly.
