Please use Nation wide norms, or else people will be just confused and that might cause accidents while driving or riding and please use of proper banners for speed limits.

Speed limits for the highways should be increased as an experimental phase. If accidents occurs frequently then down it to 80kmph.
Speeds limits for Guwahati area is a welcoming news. Many people are losing lives everyday along with minor/major accidents. But I think roads should be constructed and widened properly before setting speed limit.

And additionally please encourage cycle ride too around the city.

1. normal speed of a CYCLIST reaches 25 to 30 kmph.Noe decide the practicality of 20 n 30 kmph limits. vehicles willl have to slow down if there is congestion. its not fast n furious scene. on similar grounds the limit of 40kmph seems sheer absurd. 60kmph is a minimum perfect comfortable speed. anyone who drives will agree on it. untill some rouge moron decides to jump in front of the car. doing 70 on 60 is not a big deal but doing 120 on a 100 is big deal.

The national highway should be 80-100 looking at the Accident prone zones.
In Kamrup Metro , the Speed should be 50-80 depending on the Traffic situation.
Moreover , fine should not be deducted in the First instance and a warning should be Given

4-lane with divided carriageway - 80 is okay for roads near major cities or towns, but should be more away from city. Four wheeler cars like SUV's and sport model cars easily crosses 80 in third gear transmission. Also, journey time with cars in highways will become tedious. Also, the rule should be applied for both common people and government officials including ministers and officers.
