At a time, when people are championing equality for girl children, a section of the society still regards the girl child as a liability. The thinking that boys deserve more than girls arises from our age-old societal construct. Cases of female foeticide, violation of basic human rights, physical and mental abuse, gender inequality, etc., are still prevalent and yet to be fully erased.
It is our duty to create a healthy environment for the girl children where they can grow without any fear and humiliation. A girl with proper access to resources today will become an empowered woman tomorrow. She should be able to pursue her dreams without any inhibitions.

On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, MyGov Assam seeks your suggestions on how can the various stakeholders contribute toward all round development of the girl children? Do you think the society is still lagging behind in ensuring safety for the girls? What are some steps you believe could help spread awareness toward safeguarding rights, dignity and aspirations of the girl child?

पहले कि जमाना नहीं है जो लड़कियों को जकड़ के रखे, लड़की बहुत कीमती चीज है उससे सिखाना पड़ेगा अगर उसे सटीक दिशा मिले तो वह आसमान में उड़ सकेगा, हमारी असम की लवलीना और हिमा दास एक जलनतो उदाहरण है!

हमारी असम में लड़की के लिए अभी भी कुछ कुछ जगह में बहुत बहुतबहुत-बहुत को संस्कार चलती आ रहे हैं, इसके लिए सामाजिक गठन आगे आए तो अच्छा होगा, सरकार अपनी तरफ से सहयोग करें, बेटी बचाओ बेटी पढ़ाओ नारा तो ठीकहै, लेकिन वास्तविकता में बहुत ही कठिन परिस्थिति है, इसके लिए जागरूक होना बहुत जरूरी है!

1.Security. Kids must feel safe and sound, with their basic survival needs met shelter, food,
clothing, medical care and protection from harm.
2.Stability comes from family and community.
3.Consistency.
4.Emotional support.
5.Love.
6.Education.
7.Positive role models.
8.Structure.

Why is love important for a child?
It is important to give your child love and affection. Love and affection are essential to a child's healthy brain development. A child's feelings about themselves, how confident they are and how well they cope with stress. They are affected by the way their parents respond to them.
