Along with the rest of the world, India too celebrates World Heritage Week from November 19 to November 25. The main purpose of celebrating the World Heritage Week is to raise awareness, influence and encourage the citizens at large for the preservation and safety of the cultural heritages and monuments of the country. It is very important to preserve and protect the cultural heritage and monuments, so that the ancient culture and tradition could be passed on to the coming generations.

There are many heritages installations which took the shape of prominent tourist places but unfortunately many remain scattered in different parts of the country unnoticed or unknown.

To revive the lost glory of those, ‘MyGov Assam’ solicits your active participation in identifying and highlighting those heritages and requests you to send the photographs along with name and place of the subjects.

To send your entries, please register at www.assam.mygov.in

The 7th century archeological site of Graha Doul area, near Tarajan Kumar Gaon, Tezpur, is left abandoned after doing minor excavations 10/12 yrs ago. This area can be a tourist spot if govt do more excavation. Total land area of Graha Doul is about of 25 bighas.
Details of this area can be obtained from Archeological deptt, Assam. Hope for action from govt.
