Govt of Assam in association with the Directorate of Archaeology has taken up an initiative of protection and preservation of Assam’s heritage through the Assam Heritage Preservation Act (Built Heritage).
The Act shall ensure identification of heritage sites, compilation, boundary demarcation, providing security, and protection & preservation through scientific methods.
The Act shall include archaeological and historical monuments, satras, ancient temples and religious institutions, cultural centres, social traditional institutions, artefacts, manuscripts and other materials displayed in museums.
The Act shall speed up processes of freeing up encroached land, land transfer and recognition.

Directorate of Archaeology invites suggestions from concerned citizens and institutions regarding the Act. Send your suggestions to archaeologyassam@gmail.com or write in the comment section below.

I suggest that former archeologists, historians, scientists,
sculptors, etc shall be part of a panel that shall be formed
for consultation, feedback and suggestions that shall be implemented to further strengthen the law. Citizen's feedback
shall be received and suggestions that can be implemented shall be forwarded by this panel to the concerned department.

Advertisement for preserving State property should be made
Awareness programme among the state people should be made regarding State Heritages

The Varajayan Buddhisim has strong connection with the Hayagreev Madhob and we have few common deity like Devi Tara. This should be emphasize with creating a tourist circuit can be incorporated.
