Assam being one of the emerging states of India, the transformation of villages into towns, towns into cities and improvement in the road connectivity has been witnessed throughout the state. Exponential growth in population and their increasing movements resulted proportional raise in number of motor vehicles of all sizes and shapes on the roads making traffic management extremely difficult to maintain smooth flow of traffic on the road. To make matters worse, pedestrians and other road users are joining the crowd. The situation is in such a worsening condition that the traffic managements have ended up being at the receiving end.
To tackle this man made menace an improvised and judicial system need to be in place in the form of traffic rules and regulations along with innovative infrastructural support base. Therefore, State Government invites suggestions from citizens to put forward their innovative ideas and suggestions to develop an organised traffic system, which will be conducive to the smooth flow of men and help in minimising and eliminating of traffic congestion.

Last date for submission of ideas is 25th May, 2017

Some malls and hospital in my place Dibrugarh hv underground basement but they are utilising it for doctor cabin, parking of staff vehicles, parking with fee, may be etc. They are also occupying the drain and roadside area before their building, forcing their visitors to park all along the road, creating tragic congestion.

Countdown Tragic lights may have provided relief to traffic constable but has increased waiting time at some signals. Those signals should also be manned or time machine should be adjusted according to the specific need of the signal

In small city like dibrugarh don't allow vikram and garuda in busy roads. Run few buses. Or find some alternative to these autos run mostly by person who don't have traffic sense.

The traffic constable at the signal should ensure that vehicles stopping at the red signal are not blocking road for vehicles going left. Hoarding should educate commuters and constable should ensure.

Make accountable to all driver to report (at Toll Free Number) any vehicular accident to a govt agency to generate an accident/ incident report number. Make it mandatory to use accident/ incident number while repairing the vehicle at registered workshop. Stop all unauthorized car repairing shops. Advise all the existing car repair shop to install CCTV. Any damaged car must have to be repaired under CCTV. These initiatives are the best use of technology in the market. This will create many jobs.

Fifth - Stop fining people for illogical purposes. Please tell me after reading this - I am an citizen & my bank is in MG Road. If i go by any 2 / 4 wheelers the moment i come back after finishing my work in the bank i see the CLAMP. So please tell me where should i park ? The basements of 50-60% of the buildings are closed or used for other purposes. I am bound to park on road. So before clamping PROVIDE proper parking spaces.
