Assam is widely known for Kaziranga (one-horned rhino) or Digboi Oil Refinery (being Asia's oldest). Nowadays, Assam is in the headline for Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Setu (Dhola-Sadiya Bridge). I, as a citizen of Assam, firmly believe that it is my duty to showcase the rich art & cultural heritage of Assam. Assam is a state of natural beauty and vegetation. The natural beauty of Assam is the key factor that attracts tourists all over the world. Therefore we must take the advantage of this factor to increase the tourism industry of Assam. One way of enhancing this business is building up of wildlife sanctuaries and national parks as they attract the attention of the tourists in a significant manner. Another way possible could be advertisements through the various means of media.

I have attached an innovative method suggested by Bilash Dutta for promotion of tourism in Assam (although his idea was for the whole of North-east India,but it can be modified to suit Assam's need) which led to him being awarded the Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Ignite Award by honourable President Shri Pranab Mukherjee.

In Assam, corruption is many hurdle for implementing any scheme. In my view point, without curbing corruption, this region cannot progress in tourism sect. There are many forms of corruptions. Next point- History of the region also effect in national and international sphere. In this regard, the history of Assam is fascinating to catch other to this place. But there are lack of knowledge of history of Assam within the masses of both national and international arena. Assam govt must focus on it.

5.So, the Govt. should have their own bus and cab services with trained driver and assistants for tourists which will provide a sense of security to the tourists. Once there is development of proper and secure lodges, hotels and restaurants around the tourist spots with well behaved and nice hospitality, rest Assam has everything else to mesmerize the tourists. This will definitely make Assam the next tourist destination for all.

4. The connectivity to the tourist places should be made direct as we know mostly the tourists lodge in Guwahati so there should be direct connection from Ghy to all the tourist points with proper transportation facilities. Sad to admit but the drivers and people in transportation are not helpful towards the tourists and mostly if foreigners they are actually in danger of being looted with higher fares and several other issues, no proper hospitality and safety exists (own experience).

3.The videography of Incredible Assam or Assam tourism to be given an emotional shade projecting the lustrous and scenic beauty alongside the beautiful culture and people like showing glimpses of our aaitas and kokas going to naamghars and sattras, the farmers with jaapis and beautiful ruwonis, the elephant festival and rhinos of Kaziranga to the beautiful architecture of monuments (shiva doul,bishnu doul,kamakhya)and these should be promoted in channels like CNN-travel,TLC,Natgeotravel
