Shyamlee Chouhad: Share pictures/ write-ups

With an aim to turn every Govt institutional premise into a Shyamalee Chouhad, Govt of Assam, under the initiative of Science, Technology and Climate Change department, has introduced the Chief Minister's Institutional Plantation Programme (CMIPP). The programme will be launched on July 17 and continue till August 15. Plantation drives will be carried out in all Govt institution premises during this period.

All offices under Govt of Assam, Autonomous councils/ bodies/ corporations/ organisations, Panchayati Raj institutions/ urban local bodies, all educational institutions under Govt of Assam will participate in this plantation programme.

Objectives
• Beautification of institutional premises with absolute green cover
• Conservation of important native plant species
• Creating awareness for collective participation in climate change mitigation
• Enhance carbon stock through mass plantation
