Assam Inland Water Transport Development Society (AIWTDS) has been formed as an Apex Autonomous Body under the State Transport Department. The objective of this organisation is to manage, monitor, and coordinate the water sector of the State. The organisation is responsible for guiding the water sector in delivering as well as reforming water services.
It plays a key role in resource management and the smooth functioning of the inland water routes within the State, thus eliminating transportation bottleneck and maintaining proper navigability. This apart, the organisation also oversees the provision of rescue services and beautification of the surroundings to augment river tourism.
Inland water transportation is one of the many factors that attract investments to the State. It is cost-effective and eco-friendly in comparison to other modes of transportation. In view of this, AIWTDS also works towards strengthening the water transport network and facilitating easy movement for the people of the State. Capacity development and fleet modernisation also fall under its umbrella.
The Competition
Assam Inland Water Transport Development Society (AIWTDS) invites entries from interested persons for a logo design competition. This logo, which would be used as the official symbol of AIWTDS, shall help the organisation establish its unique identity. In a world that is going digital, the logo will also help the organisation leave a digital footprint of its actions, communications, and contributions manifested on the Internet.

This logo has 2 main elements - A boat and a japi which also represents a wheel.
The boat is a means of transport on water. The upward direction and sleek lines of the boat show speed, which can also represent speedy implementation of projects by AIWTDS.
The Japi is a unique element representing Assam. Here, It is also a wheel in motion which represents transport and movement.
Also a simple form of a leaf with the boat shows enhancement of the natural beauty of the State by AIWTDS.

The concept of my Design is based on the Asaamese Japi which is represented by the steering wheel of a ship, the colour of the base of the ship is of green shade to represent the life line of our Assam Inland Water Transport and the structure on top of the ship represents Our Rang Ghor

The ship's wheel in the logo represents movement and progress in the water sector. Also, the four people in the centre of the ship's wheel show the formation of a society. So, this logo perfectly describes AIWTDS as a society for the progress of the water sector of Assam.

EXPLAINATION OF THE LOGO:
I have designed the logo in monochrome because all the part of the logo should distinctly visible from a distance, in black monochrome the visibility of the logo increases. For better visibility the white background of the logo should always be there. With the white background the logo can be placed on any coloured surface without affecting its visibility.

I have attached a separate pdf file to explain the component of the logo.

This logo represents the inland water transport development society. This logo reflects the various components of the river resources of assam.Basically this logo consists of a river,dolphin,a boat,a bridge.The river here glorifies the rich water resource of our state,the dolphin signifies value of rivers of assam.The state of assam has a great dependency on the boats and ships in facilitating transportation across the waters,both tourists and the people living in influence of river.

The Ferry Wheel, which is the crucial element regarding the topic. Through this logo we come across a symbol of ship i.e. the anchor, also a mini boat has been depicted amidst floating waters.
On the left and right side of the logo two steering wheels of a ship are depicted too.
The logo is circular with two concentric circles in it holding all the depictions and texts.
