With just a few days remaining for the 17th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, the people of India are eagerly waiting to witness the biggest sporting event of the year. Much to the excitement of the soccer lovers of Northeast India, Guwahati is one of the Host Cities for FIFA U-17 World Cup.
With a view to highlight the wonderful culture of Guwahati, a logo designing competition has been organised by Sports Department, Assam. The broad theme of the Host City Logo would be to depict the rich cultural heritage of the city of Guwahati along with the image of a modern and upcoming city. Logo for the FIFA U-17 World cup 2017. The logo shows a typical picture of Guwahati which is surrounded on all sides by beautiful hills. The logo also shows the Kamakhya temple and the historic Saraighat bridge. The dual bridge shows that Assam was very much technologically advanced even way back in 1962 when the bridge was opened. At the center of the picture is Bir Lachit Borphukan, who is the ultimate epitome of courage and bravery for the people of Assam.
