Handloom is a reflection of the society’s cultural heritage. Assam’s handloom has a unique cultural identity of its own. The local artisans weave a wide variety of handloom items with intricate designs and alluring motifs widely appreciated even beyond the State and the country.

On the eve of National Handloom Day, MyGov Assam has come up with a special initiative to promote the handloom of the State.
Take a photo or video of you wearing your favourite attire made with Assam’s handloom weaves such as eri, muga, etc. Share the photo or video on social media handles and tag us with #MyHandloomMyPride. Entries may also be submitted in the comment section below. Mention your name and address along with details of the outfit.

I am wearing Assam Silk Pure Handloom Muga set is designed very beautifully by our weavers.Its more then 30 years old, Very Gorgeous and traditional Pure Muga Silk is used in this Mekhela Sador where all over Guna work is designed beautifully with multicolored thread mina work. #MyHandloomMypride
