Plantation in massive scale should be initiated. Making roads and plantation of trees by the side of the road should be done at a time. Take plan of making ponds in the regular interval of 1 Km. Water storage system of every house hold roof should be make compulsory. These are the minimum steps for harvesting rain water.

Assam receives ample amount of rainfall. Therefore proper measures must be taken to preserve the rainwater because water is precious. Different techniques of collecting the rainwater must be applied in each and every households. Houses should have slanting roofs so that the rainwater can be collected easily. Construction of wells can also be a good way to save the rainwater. Construction of technological devices to filter rainwater so that it can be used for drinking purpose.

This facility can also be availed by commercial establishments and other public private institutions including schools, colleges etc.
State govt. can make provisions for additional grant in annual aids to those educational institutions.
All bus shelters can also have RWH systems to store water for using it in emergency situations such as fire.
