Assam being one of the emerging states of India, the transformation of villages into towns, towns into cities and improvement in the road connectivity has been witnessed throughout the state. Exponential growth in population and their increasing movements resulted proportional raise in number of motor vehicles of all sizes and shapes on the roads making traffic management extremely difficult to maintain smooth flow of traffic on the road. To make matters worse, pedestrians and other road users are joining the crowd. The situation is in such a worsening condition that the traffic managements have ended up being at the receiving end.
To tackle this man made menace an improvised and judicial system need to be in place in the form of traffic rules and regulations along with innovative infrastructural support base. Therefore, State Government invites suggestions from citizens to put forward their innovative ideas and suggestions to develop an organised traffic system, which will be conducive to the smooth flow of men and help in minimising and eliminating of traffic congestion.

Last date for submission of ideas is 25th May, 2017

Citizen Controlling Traffic:
1. A web portal where people can upload video of other citizen violating traffic rule, and the video would capture the vehicle and its number plate.City traffic control roam will issue necessary penalties, and i believe within a month people will start following traffic rule
2. Mass DTO validation of vehicle with: Each and every vehicle which corresponding phone number, address must be available for penalties

Respected Sir,

I am a citizen of Guwahat, living in the Sharabh Bhatti area. Sir the condition of the traffic at the Sharabh Bhatti junction is like Jungle Raj. Basic needs of a busy junction are missing. There is no traffic light, no markings on road to discipline the uncivilised vehicles and lack of strict traffic police men who many a times exist as a roadside viewer because he is not equipped to control the traffic. This junction is crucial for Ghy commuters and needs urgent attention.

Something must be done regarding the traffic of Silchar as it is taking a horrible turn day by day. Widening the roads and making of a flyover is a must.

We all know that if a child is taught something in their very beginning of their life, they don't forget in their entire life. So, apart from spreading awareness among current population, we must look into basic school education system. Please contact me how we can include basic rules in schools and in fact inside home. I have a plan.#AssamPolice

To solve any issue, we must go to the roots without which if we try to solve , the problem comes up after sometime. Without seeing the root cause, it is not possible to get a permanent solution. For me, if we are to control Assam traffic , it is most important that our syllabus in our schools must include basic behavior and rules to be followed on roads and outside home, you will see there is a big change in upcoming generation. it is just a matter of 5-10 yrs. There seems to be no stopping to the traffic menance at Khanapara. Long distance public/private buses, trekkers, taxis and other modes of public transports keep standing on the road waiting for passengers just near the flyover. The resulting traffic condition is far from imagination. Traffic police keep standing as mere spectators. ISBT a few Kms away seems to be of no use. Moreover a small opening in the divider adds to the misery as vehicles try to sneak through. Somebody plz look into it.

All the new amd existing vehicles put unique RFID tags, which records the information about primary driver/riders, insurance and geotagging.
Something like what we have here in Mumbai tolls. Its a sticker with little info.
Mobile app for online payments of fine etc..
