Draft Agriculture Policy (2018)

Being an agrarian state, Government of Assam gives topmost priority to the Agriculture department for bringing about a transformation in the Agriculture/Horticulture sector. This is the sector which provides food and nutritional security to the people of Assam and has the potential to earn a major source of revenue for the State by increasing farm income by many times. Increasing production and productivity of agri-horticultural crops using environment friendly science and cutting age technology, a well defined and smart policy framing is imperative.
