Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is a social welfare scheme to provide subsidised LPG connections to women belonging to BPL families. The aim is to ensure smoke-free household kitchens across the nation and thus check related health disorders, air pollution and deforestation. Almost every deserving family in Assam has already benefitted from the scheme.
