A revered statesman, an ace wordsmith, an influential orator, Bharat Ratna, the former Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji's life was truly a romance of the verses. At a time when a pacific demeanour is considered a weakness, Vajpayee Ji proved that it can be a part of one’s legacy. His poetic instinct set him apart from all politicians of his time. As a part of his legacy, he left back soul-stirring poems that shall forever be cherished and celebrated.
In honour of the legendary poet Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji, MyGov Assam puts forth a Poetry Competition for the people of Assam. MyGov Assam invites tribute poems dedicated to Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji in all languages used across Assam. Entries shall be welcomed in two categories.
The first category will be open for school/college/university students, under which the three best pieces shall be awarded cash prizes of:
- Rs 3000
- Rs 2000
- Rs 1000, respectively
The second category will be open for all, under which the three best pieces shall be awarded.
- Rs 5000
- Rs 3000
- Rs 2000, respectively
All poems shall be compiled and published into an anthology. Entries must be sent through this portal from August 25, 2018 to September 10, 2018.
Terms and Conditions
• Participants can send their poems written as a tribute to Atal Ji in any languages used across Assam
• There are two categories for participation – (A) School to University level (B) Open Category
• For Category (A), the cash prize is Rs 3000, Rs 2000 & Rs 1000 respectively
• For Category (B), the cash prize is Rs 5000, Rs 3000 & Rs 2000 respectively
• It is mandatory to mention the language used in the poems other than Assamese, Hindi & English
• Entries must be sent through this portal from August 25, 2018 to September 10, 2018.
• Participants can participate in only one category
• An individual can contribute only one poem
• Plagiarised content will not be accepted
• The decision of the judges will be final

নাছিল ফে'চবুক, নাছিল টুইটাৰ। নাছিল ইনষ্ট্ৰাগ্ৰাম, নাছিল অৰকুট।
আছিল মহীৰূহ, আছিল হৃদয়বোধ, আছিল জীৱনবোধ।
থাকিব জীৱনযুঁজত, থাকিব সপোন সুন্দৰত, থাকিব মণিকূটত।
শীতৰ পথাৰত, আঘোণৰ নিঁয়ৰত,পকা ধানৰ থোঁকত ধৰণীক সৰগ কৰিলা।
শৰৎ অহাৰ পথেৰে, বৰ্ষাৰ প্লাৱনত। ভাদৰ নৌকাত উঠি গুছি গ'লা।
জগত জুৰি ঘূৰি, সপোন সৌধ মেলি, জীৱন গতিত দিয়া শকতি।
