Road Traffic Accidents cause 50.4% deaths in Assam, which is more than the national average of 36.4%. With the exploding production of vehicles, frequent gridlocks, and poor road conditions, traffic collisions are on a high rise. This apart, carelessness on the part of road users add to the woe. Thus, although the various means of transportation have decreased distances, crashes and casualty have simultaneously increased.
All this amounts to serious socioeconomic loss at the state level. Needless to say, ‘Road Safety’ has emerged as one of the biggest concern for the citizens of Assam. It encapsulates one and all – from pedestrians to cyclists to motorists. Properly undertaken road safety measures could help in the prevention of accidents, pedestrian injuries, and fatalities.
Hence, it is necessary to interpret the various challenges and complications that arise due to the dynamism of the concept. It has always been a sincere effort of the State Government to come up with novel ways to ensure road safety. However, to arrive at efficacious solutions, it is important to take into consideration the opinion of the citizens as well.

The Competition

In order to establish a strong road safety paradigm, the Government of Assam seeks the participation of the citizens through a Slogan Competition. This is an opportunity to put forward your thoughts and ideas regarding the implementation of effective road safety measures. Grab it at the earliest.

For drivers:
• Put on your seat belt while driving; it will keep you safe and caring
• If you are dying to take the call, then be ready for going to hell.

For two- wheelers:
• Protect your head; wear helmet.

My Slogans on Road Safety
For pedestrians:
•Left side is the safe side to walk on the road.
•Take the zebra track as the safe zone; to safely, on the other side, u can pass on.
For drivers:
•slow drive; long live
•Think & drive but do not drink & drive. Stay safe, stay alive.
•Save your life; do not drink and drive.
•Look and hear; before u gear.
•Obey the rules of traffic and avoid the situations of hectic.

To the people of assam ..
Ride the vehicles careful and in slow speed .. U always going high speed and this cause accident and u may die .... So my request for the people of assam teach them fellows to ride slowly and pls respect the girls... And to the government pls check the speed of the bikers and car drivers who goes speed in any road and appeal to the government may check the quality of roads and make better roads #roadsafety
