Online Drawing Competition for School Level on Lachit Divas
Lachit Borphukan, the fearless general of 17th century Assam, led the Ahom army towards victory by defeating the invading Mughal forces in the Battle of Saraighat in 1671. His saga of courage and patriotism still continues to inspire the people of Assam. On the occasion of Lachit Divas celebrated on November 24, MyGov Assam is organising an all Assam School Level Online Art Competition to pay tribute to the legendary general.

Participants can submit their entries in any medium (water colour, poster colour, crayon, pencil, etc.) and post it in the comment section below
Terms and Conditions:
• Students in Class 5 - 12 can participate in this competition
•Participants must write their current educational standard along with age
• For sending entries, log on to assam.mygov.in and upload the art piece under DO section of the portal
• Size of files of scanned copies of art shall be less than 10 MB
• One participant can send only one piece of art
• Selection committee’s decision on quality of paintings will be final
• Winners will get e-certificates signed by Hon’ble Chief Minister, Assam

Lachit Borphukan was the son of Momai Tamuli Borbarua, the first Borbarua (or "Governor") of upper-Assam and Commander-in-Chief of the Ahom army) under Prataap Singha. He was born in Betioni to a family of Ahom people[5][6][7] community. Lachit Borphukan was educated in the Humanities, Ban phi Phuraloung Philosophy[citation needed], Indigenous Scriptures and military skills.
