The North Eastern region has the highest concentration of bamboo resources in the country. SBDA works with the aim of promoting the use of bamboo. Hi-tech nursery and big and small nurseries have been created for the supply of quality planting material. More focus has been laid on commercial cultivation of bamboo in non-forest areas.

Under processing, emphasis is given on providing financial assistance to the entrepreneurs in setting up of incense stick making units, treatment and seasoning plants and other units linked with bamboo.
