With just a few days remaining for the 17th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, the people of India are eagerly waiting to witness the biggest sporting event of the year. Much to the excitement of the soccer lovers of Northeast India, Guwahati is one of the Host Cities for FIFA U-17 World Cup.

With a view to highlight the wonderful culture of Guwahati, a logo designing competition has been organised by Sports Department, Assam. The broad theme of the Host City Logo would be to depict the rich cultural heritage of the city of Guwahati along with the image of a modern and upcoming city. The selected Host City Logo of Guwahati will be juxtaposed with the FIFA Logo to make it a composite one.

The Host City shall be entitled to be involved in the creation of the Guwahati city specific element of the Host City Composite Logo in such a manner as determined by FIFA and the Local Organising Committee (LOC). The final decision on the content and the visual-artistic creation as well as the other conditions for the development and the use of the Host City Composite Logo solely rests with FIFA.

Besides Guwahati, the tournament, which will take place from 6th till 28th of October will be held in five other venues, namely Kochi, Goa, Navi Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata.

Last date: July 10th, 2017

The winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 25, 000 along with a Certificate of Participation.

I've edited & re-submitting the Logo that I'd given earlier
Theme: This particular Logo depicts a Fusion of Guwahati & Assam's Development, its Culture, & history (the Kamakhya Mandir, besides the skyscrapers & a flowing stream). It also shows Assam's tradition & inclination to Dance, music.
Colours: Colours used are mainly those that Match Fifa's Corporate Logo. (as given in the rules & regulations)

The logo is depicting the cultural heritage with Kamakhya temple, modern technology through Saraighat Bridge and great historic event of Lachit Borphukan who defeated Ram Singh the Mughal general in that battle of Saraighat.
Here, we have moved Lachit Borphukan symbolizing the whole Assam to filled with joy with Fifa U17 world cup.

SYMBOLIC ILLUSTRATIONS
1.Main Mandapa/Shikhara of Kamakhya Temple symbolic of the rich historical and archaeological past of Assam
2.Gamocha symbolic of rich culture and traditional heritage of Assam
3.Saraighat Bridge(just below the Gamocha) symbolizes the development made in the field of Infrastructure which shows Assam in the road of progress
4.The 5 colors-Blue,yellow,black,green,and red symbolizes 5 continents of the world
5.Football symbolizes the FIFA and japi symbolizes Assam.

My logo shows our culture embrace football. As its looks like a shora but it contains culture symbols like The Kamakhya temple,Bhupen Hazarika smriti soudha ,tea leaf ,gomcha,bramhaputra.japhi.And on other way you can see it’s a some one who embrace the football .Japhi represent his head ,hand by tea leaf ,socks by gomcha & rest of the body of the body by Kamakhya temple/smriti soudha .

This Logo is made up of Foolam gamucha and Jaapi which are the pride of Assam. In the upper backgound of the Logo we can see the history of Assam, Lachit Borphukan in war protecting Assam and the most visible part of this Logo is the Jarcy of the player. where we can see the flags of 24 participating countries.
