Forests are essential in protecting the planet and its living beings. The theme for this year’s International Day of Forests is “Forests and Sustainable Cities”. Trees and forests are vital components for the survival of the present and future generations. Without them, we will cease to exist.
Not only forests help in reducing the effects of climate change in urban areas but also act as air purifiers removing harmful pollutants from the air. There are many benefits of forests in urban trees such as protecting watersheds, preventing flood, cooling the air in urban areas, etc. The more we make our cities greener, the healthier and happier our cities will be!
