Dipika Phukan: Winning at Life Against Cancer

Dipika Phukan is a living example of how a will to live can work wonders at the face of adversity. The septuagenarian survived breast cancer with the best of treatment and therapy from Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati. Phukan is a retired teacher and acclaimed translator of various works of Assamese literature into English. With determination and care, she overcame what most see as a deadly disease and continues to live life with full jest and chase her passion for translation.
