Despite the rapid progress towards ending gender discrimination across the world, the problem still exists in the society. This gender gap has given birth to social menaces like oppression, regression and misogyny, advertently or inadvertently. However, with evolution of technology and globalisation, there is more collaboration between men and women, creating a diverse and balanced society. Yet there are many loopholes that need to be plugged to bring #BalanceforBetter.

Ahead of International Women's Day on March 8, MyGov Assam has sought suggestions from citizens on how to create an atmosphere in our surroundings to ensure that women don’t feel discriminated and the Balance is struck for Better.

Please limit your suggestions to 200 words. The best answer will be featured on MyGov Assam social media page along with the winner’s photograph.

Gender equality can be ensured only by inculcating human values, ethics, morality, etc.right from the age of 12 and above when
the innocence of childhood starts waning and slowly vanishing. Parents, teachers, older siblings must be proactive and start the process of inculcating values of gender equality when the child reaches the above mentioned age. Efforts should be made to educate the child about the need for mutual co-existence without having any discrimination, prejudice, etc.
