Role of women in developing a healthy society has been enormous. Women’s contribution in social development could be traced back to ancient times in one form or another. But, unfortunately these contributions have hardly been duly acknowledged and recognised. In addition to their exclusive role in home making, their role in politics, education, science, sports, culture, etc. have been immense.

In expressing deep gratitude to women folks especially on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, 2018, ‘MyGov Assam’ requests citizen at large to share their thoughts or experiences in regard to the contribution of a woman/women as a home maker, an entrepreneur, a professional, etc. in your life or society as a whole.

Why often we feel uneasy with a woman..woman has never been understood..it is a lack of man's education not woman's...so woman psychology and specially her contribution should be studied...it should be a part of our education..instead putting them into our lustful lab.(mind)...let's discover her through our mother and sister...

Woman is like a flower that blooms under a good care of a sincere man who is like the stem holding and supplying every nutrition to the flower...so the very first thing to do is to know a woman as woman then we can expect for a fruit which will be the most tastiest ever....

It's not my day!

“You are not attentive at your work. Why don’t you stay active.” I shouted at my staff-nurse. “You are never on time.”

Her smile disappears. She tries to explain, “I have lots of household works to do before I leave for my duty. I am a girl.” Something shut me up. I made myself busy at work.

"If you educate a man, you educate an individual. But if you educate a woman, you educate a nation".
Education is the key for women to achieve economic independence.
For the women who are struggling to access education, and for those who want to end educational inequality, I hope that this Government inspire them to make a change!

The women empowerment is a major task should be undertaken by the government involving the NGOs with right track of their activities already undertaken in rural Assam. Economic empowerment of women vide Micro Enterprise Development programme for mini trades & industry such as cutting tailoring, handloom etc are feasible corners for unprivileged women in Assam.
